More About Friends of Hales Corners Park & Pool

Welcome to the Friends of the Hales Corners Park & Pool. We are a group of citizens who have been active since 2003 with the mission of first keeping our pool open and then expanding our efforts to include other developments and improvements within the park for the benefit of families and youth from all communities in our area.  We are recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation.

In 2002 the Friends initially organized to keep this community asset open after learning that Milwaukee County government had plans to demolish the pool and building.  On January 1, 2012, the Friends expanded their mission to include all of Hales Corners Park and became the Friends of Hales Corners Park & Pool.

Since its inception, the Friends have taken on many projects to improve the pool, including painting the entire pavilion, inside and out, which hadn’t been done since President Johnson was in the White House, and have either purchased, received donations, or been the beneficiary of Eagle Scout projects, for pool equipment, toys, picnic tables, deck chairs and tables with umbrellas.   Also, our group works diligently each spring to clean the building and locker rooms prior to the opening of the pool.

In 2013, The friends proposed to build the Alyson Dudek International Ice Center In Hales Corners Park. The goal was to build a 100' x 200' outdoor ice skating rink to be open in December 2015. It will stand among other community treasures, including the pool, the Veterans Memorial, Jake's Rock, basketball courts, picnic areas and softball fields.

Please continue to support the Friends of Hales Corners Park & Pool in the following ways:

  2. Remember to save your aluminum cans year-round and bring them to the blue recycle bins around the community like the picture on this page: The blue bins are located in front of the Hales Corners Pool, outside of Consumer Beverage, inside at the Hales Corners Car Wash, in the entrance at Pick N Save, at the back of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare medical building off of Kay Parkway, in the Holz Motors service area and on the playground at Hales Corners Elementary School on the Janesville Road side.
  3. Make a tax deductible donation to the Friends.

Thank you for your support!
